Water damage or damp in your Weinsberg: what now?

In that case, repair costs can run into thousands of euros, sometimes more than the campervan is still worth.

Also bear in mind that water damage has a significant impact on the market value of your motorhome. A buyer who sees signs of moisture or has a moisture measurement carried out will negotiate the price down sharply or even walk away. Sometimes it is therefore financially smarter to sell the campervan to a party specialised in campervans with defects than to have an expensive repair carried out yourself.

Repair or sell?

Small leaks, such as a roof hatch that needs to be resealed or a window rubber that needs replacing, are usually easy to do. The costs are then often between 200 and 600 euros, depending on the part and labour hours. But once moisture has got into the wood or insulation material, it becomes a different story. Then the interior lining has to be removed, the affected material taken out, everything dried and rebuilt. That is labour-intensive and expensive, and the result is always a repaired campervan, not as new.
