If you need a new leisure battery, you face the choice between a classic AGM battery and a lithium battery (LiFePO4). AGM is cheaper to buy, lithium lasts longer, weighs less, and can be discharged much deeper. For those who often stay off-grid without a power hookup, lithium is the logical choice; for campers, AGM is more than sufficient.
For a decent AGM battery, expect to pay from one to several hundred euros. Lithium costs many times that, especially with a matching charge booster. In an older camper, that investment rarely pays off: the added value at resale is a fraction of the purchase price.
A incorrectly connected or outdated charge controller of the solar panel can also drain the battery instead of charging it. Have the entire charging line checked if the battery itself tests fine.
